Recorded at Ole Man Rivers in New Orleans on 4th October 1980. Decent-sounding audience recording (albeit not first gen).

Hmm.

Don't have such an issue with ratings (as opposed to wordy reviews). Sometimes it's useful just to get that thumbs up (and it's almost a shame that BZ doesn't have a means by which the average rating could be shown). But...

1. Have a look at the reviewer's wants list. This disc is there, so this isn't a review, it's a request for a trade.

2. If he hasn't got it, why should we take the five stars seriously?

3. But most of all, my old favourite - why do we have a five star (or marks out of ten) review system, when only two marks are ever given - zero or ten. If the review system going to be used so unintelligently and with so little discrimination from the reviewers, why don't we just have a thumbs up or thumbs down?

Since I listed it, may as well do a quick review then!

Start point is which version of Ultravox you like - the charismatic but unsuccessful John Foxx version, or the successful but corporate Midge Ure version.

So this is a bit of both. Midge singing, with some Foxx songs. Best of both worlds or worst of both worlds? Probably the former, as there's still a naive edgy quality to it.

Sound is fine, but not record-breaking. Makes an interesting listen, but will never be your favourite recording of all time!
