I commented on the bootleg version of this concert and said that it sounded like an absolute shambles, and that before an official release there would have to be a lot of polishing up done in the studio. Well congratulations Jeff Lynne this album is amazing, you couldn`t wish for a better selection of Georges songs, and now that it is all balanced out, the musicianship really shines through. Superb, you`ll listen to it again and again!!!!

When it comes to other people doing Beatles covers, I personally avoid them like the plague.

However after seeing the dvd version of this show several times, I say it's an absolute must.

The first half of the concert is performed by a traditional Indian classical orchestra (disc one), playing several pieces of music especially composed for the occassion by Ravi Shankar, and conducted by his daughter Anoushka, who also plays a mean sitar.

The emotions must have been running high on the night of the concert as this comes across strongly just watching the dvd, well I do anyway, and I admit, the first couple of times I saw this dvd, I was reduced to a crying mess, during for me, the highlight of the concert, when Ringo comes out and sings 'Photograph' dedicated especially to his dear friend, and ours, George.

I say it again, this is a must have.

One of the best nights of my life. Everyone (except Dylan) on one stage for George, and as Ravi Shankar said "How can George not be here". Truly beautiful concert.

This recording, and the DVD, is one of the best tribute concerts I have ever seen or heard. You could really feel that all the players on stage shared a connection with George and really loved him. It comes through onto the music in spades. Watching the interaction of the musicians, most of then friends for over 40 years, and listening to them play George's tunes made one thing clear, despite all the egos, they all were there for George. How can I not give this a 10 out of 10?

If you buy one live recording, this is the one to buy. Too bad Bob Dylan had scheduling problems, he would have been the icing on the cake.

Just like everyone else says above, this is the best tribute concert ever. Get the music, but better still get the DVD.

Very beautiful, but there are unfortunately no Monty Pythons, and "Horse to the Water" by Sam Brown, Jools Holland and Jim Capaldi is missing!!! For this reason I cannot give 10 stars...
