Excellent compilation if you don't have this material yet. Quality is excellent too!

REALLY dumb title. REALLY UGLY cover. But that's not my main objection.

Much as I love the Beatles (and actually saw them), 1964 concerts tend to kind of muddle in together on disk. Blindfold anyone but a total obsessive, and "She Loves You", for example, sounds kind of the same, varying by the bad equipment and recordings more than anything else.

I've always loved Philadelphia!!!! Great show, decent to very good broadcast and recording. Long, long ago, I got the original "Alive at Last" LP on Lemon Records, and bought copies thru the "Whiskey Flats" sillinesses. And one Reaally Big reason was Lennon's off the cuff intro to "If I Fell (Over)"!! Maybe just for me, it made the concert shine, and me smile. On this version, some fruitcake put the intro on the END of "Can't Buy Me Love" (1st Stupidity) and then he fades Lennon's "over" quip so it's almost indistinguishable. This may have originated on some early pressing/incarnation, but it's inexcusable.

On the whole, the quality of the two disks/concerts is really good. Someone should just shoot the cover artist and the (alleged) mastering twit. I can only give it a 5.
