Scan submitted/created by [derha-dun]
HQ Scans:
Publisher: Dr. Ebbetts
Reference :MFSL-1-104
Date :2000
Made In :USA
Quality :Excellent Stereo
Booklet & packaging :Glossy cover, 4 page booklet. A reproduction of the original vinyl MFSL LP cover, complete with the original liner notes on back.
Total duration: 34:43

Comments
A reproduction on CD of the Beatles' fourth UK album, as released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. Thermal printed legend on Silver CD-R disc looks like a "silk screened, factory pressed" CD.
These are transferred from the vinyl releases. Only the smallest amount of noise reduction necessary has been applied.
An excellent sounding recording, when compared to the actual Mobile Fidelity releases. Very clear, crisp stereo.

WELL I MUST SAY THAT THE EBBETTS PRESSINGS SOUND TREMENDOUS
I CONSIDER MYSELF A COMPLETE FAN OF HIS. THIS WAS THE FIRST EBBETTS MFSL THAT I PLAYED AND THERE'S NO COMPARISON TO THE ORIGINAL THE SOUND IS PRIMO!!! THESE MIXES ARE FROM THE ORIGINAL MFSL VINYL THAT'S ALL I NEED TO KNOW..SAVE YOUR MONEY IF YOU CAN FIND THE DOCTOR HE'S THE MAN WHEN IT COMES TO THE BEATLES IN GENERAL

wow, this album sounds gorgeous in stereo. none of the hard pannings like the other early albums. The tinny, sh*tty sound of the official CD release is replaced with a very warm natural sound. I swear I heard Ringo's hi-hat pedal squeak!
This is my first Ebbetts disc and so far I'm quite impressed. My ultra sensitive ears picked up some incredibly minor vinyl artifacts, but it is a small price to pay for such a huge dynamic range, and to hear the mix as it was intended. Long live Dr E. and the fab 4!

transfered from prestine vinyl to amazing stereo sound quality. The good doctor has since upgraded the artwork. I consider this to be the BEST sounding stereo version of BFS. Get it!

The sound on this CD is beyond belief. The Beatles and George Martin finally got their stereo act together with BFS, and the album shines. For a record that many place lower in the canon, this has to be heard to be believed. Put on your headphones and fall in. An absolute must have.

A clear switch for John Lennon on this album. A more personal Lennon. How he found time to write such beautiful songs while touring in '64 is beyond my understanding. The Dr. didn't let them down either. A kick-ass transfer!

Yes, you need to get this disc. As with most Beatles albums the Doc's is the best. This is the clearest, best sounding of all the stereo versions of Beatles for Sale.

I always loved the songs on this album. I had the EMI (Every Mistake Imaginable) Australian cassette as a kid in the early 80s (which was probably a just a high speed dub off the vinyl anyway) but it had a far better sound than the official CD I bought later. What a disappointment that was. The EQ was so toppy that Georges twangy Gretsch fills cut through the tinny mix like icepicks while the rest of the backing was just a muddy wash. It really was unlistenable. Even the EMI CD cover was just a single sided panel. The track listing on the back looked like it was photo copied then sent to the printer via fax. Thank god for Dr Ebbetts and the care this guy goes to putting his releases together. One thing that blew me away with this warm, crystal clear transfer is on the left channel of Every Little Thing you can hear John tapping the body of his Gibson Jumbo and whistling over Georges intro. Magic stuff! Listen to it with headphones, it wont make your ears bleed like the official version;)

Tremendous sound quality. The best version of For Sale bar none.the sound quality is so clear you can hear every facet and nuance, while the stereo panning is actually better than later albums. A truly great achievement by the Doc, not a hiss or crackle on the record. The Reverb on ETTBMB is like you are in the abbey road echo chamber. Without Doubt the best sounding Beatles CD or MP3 i own. Unbelievable.
