27 Apr 1993
Paul McCartney
After the soundcheck, Paul & Carl rejoined backstage and performed a long jam session.
Two main versions of this jam exist. Both released on video: "Go Cat Go" and "My Old Friend".
The latter is considered core for this song because it's more complete.
Paul & Carl Perkins from the "Go Cat Go!" and/or "My Old Friend" official Carl Perkins videos. However they are only in mono here whilst the videos are in stereo. Both videos are needed for a more complete jam session. This seems to be lifted from "We'd Go On For Hours" where the edits are the same (and that too is in mono). In this case, it's the "Go Cat Go" video.

R.A.D.D.
1994
Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr
Rockers Against Drunk Driving.
Originally released on the promo "R.A.D.D. Awareness Message PRoject, Vol. 3" (track 41).
Features numerous stars singing single lines of the song. Among them: Paul, Ringo and Julian Lennon.
Liner notes: This is a mystery. On the promo CD the track is 3.38 long but the version here is edited from that (the first guitar break and verses until the next break are edited out). There were 2 video edits (the short and the long one) both shown on music stations so probably that is where this comes from (perhaps that's why its mono - although on the promo the stereo separation is not too good either). Chrysler who sponsored the ads had a 10 track CD on sale (featuring this and 9 other "car" songs) so maybe this edited version comes that. Further info required.

Tilleul's note: Chris Madinger/Mark Easter indicate that "We'd Go On For Hours" bootleg (No Label Records NLR 9902) features a mono excerpt taken from an unknown television broadcast. This track was probably lifted from that NLR bootleg.

War Child Session
4 Sep 1995
Paul McCartney, Oasis
Performed by Smokin' Mojo Filters, featuring Paul McCartney, Noel Gallagher, Steve Craddock, Paul Weller, Steve White & Carleen Anderson.
This song was recorded for the War Child charity album "Help", to aid efforts in war-stricken areas, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina.
From the War Child CD "Help!" or from the CD single (both versions are the same anyway).

WITHOUT A DOUBT, THIS 6TH DISC GEM IS THE VERSION OF ''DRIVE MY CAR''-R.A.D.D.THIS VERSION WAS RECORDED TO BE A PROMOTIONAL TRACK FOR THE CHRYSLER CAR ENTERPRISES, PAUL SINGS THE BEGINNING AND THEN, OTHER GREAT SINGERS JOIN HIM WITH ALSO A STUPENDOUS GUITAR SOLO IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG.AND TO TOP IT OFF, I CAN'T SEEM TO REMEMBER WHERE ELSE I SAW THIS VERSION?!? NO OTHER BOOT HAS IT, THAT'S FOR SURE.THAT'S WHY THIS COLLECTION IS EXTREMELY RARE, IF YOU FIND IT, GET IT AS IT ALSO COMES WITH AN EXPLANATORY BOOKLET FULL OF RARE PICTURES AND IMPORTANT NOTES AND ALL THIS HOUSED IN A COOL BOX WITH OUTSTANDING ARTWORK.
This is just a reply to clarify things here.As I happen to have the original NEW MOON OVER MACCA, I also have the informative booklet, and my answer to Carla is; NO. this New Moon Over Macca version of Drive my Car is an ultra rare version ''ONLY'' found on a 10-track-limited-sale-CD sponsored by CHRYSLER featuring other 9 ''Car'' songs. You can found Paul sharing vocals even with Lenny Kravitz and with outrageous guitar solos, If you find It, get It ! The original must be impossible since Madman apparentely has gone down the drain.......Along with the Vigotone Guys.If you need any more information on this one, you'll have to wait until François post the complete scans on this site.By the way, I also have Dyiology Vol. 1, that's why I know.

I am NOT reviewing this disc. In fact, I've never heard it. I'm just responding to the previous review. Isn't the track that everyone's creaming over the same Rockers Against Drunk Driving version of Drive My Car that appears on DIYology #1 in great sound quality?

- - -

So this is the other one then? The one that appears on Unbootlegged 4?
