YOU CAN'T GET A BETTER COPY OF THIS FAIR COMPILATION THEN THE DOC'S BEATLES LOVE SONGS. EVEN THOUGH THE PICKING OF SONGS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THE BEST I WILL SAY THAT AS A COMPLETIST IT'S A MUST HAVE. AND THERE'S ALSO ANOTHER THING UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND SERIOUS MONEY TO FIND A MINT COPY (LP'S)OR SEARCH FOR SOMEONE TO TRANSFER THEN THE DOCTOR EBBETT'S LOVE SONGS IS THE EASIER SOFTER WAY.BEING A BIG FAN AS WELL AS SUPPORTER THE DOC CAN DO NO WRONG. LOOKING AT MY COLLECTION AND SEEING THE ORIGINAL RECORDINGS MONO / STEREO / MFSL IS AMAZING. JUST TO BE ABLE TO GET THE ORIGINALS IS AMAZING...DO YOURSELF A FAVOR CHECK OUT A DOCTOR EBBETT'S DISC I GUARANTEE YOU'LL WANT THEM ALL.............JEFF ROSENTHAL

I absolutely adore this compilation. Its perfect for playing in the background when you have to entertain like an adult. The quality is superb, the track listing is excellent. This is one of my most fave discs, it never leaves my player at home.

Good CD!! I know Ebbetts was trying to reproduce the record as it was. BUT This Boy, Yes it is, a P.S I Love You, have better versions when running a CD-R for the car(on PM-1 for the 1st two, and Die Beatals for the last).

I just got this disc, and it is taking me back to when I was 10 years old and got it for the first time on LP. I too have been playing it non-stop since I got it. Also, it's amazing that I am starting to really notice some differences in the 70's Capitol mixes of some of these songs (Girl for example). They were pretty difficult to catch on LP! And its funny that on the LPs sleves the capitol albums were listed as to where to find each individual song - but they really wouldn't sound like the ones here!

Absolutely fabulous sound! If you don't own a copy of this then get your hand on one as fast as possible as it is a must own for any Beatles fan. Definitely one of my most played boots since I got it.

Naturally, the mock stereo version of 'This Boy' sounds horrible but the rest of the Doc's 'Love Songs' transfer is pure joy. One of the best needle drops I've come across (and I've heard a lot!). Fantastic sound, great selection of songs and highly recommended.

my copy seems to be a dr. ebbets version...the artwork and quality all match up to what is shown here...however...my disc is different...mine has the picture of the boys at the bottom. its a thermo label just like all the other dr. ebbets discs...so..i don't know if mine is an actual dr's release...but it's a damn good copy of one if it isn't.

Don't like mixes of "This Boy" or "Yes it Is," but everything sounds fantastical. Has good alternate, but official mixes. The usual great warmy-schmarmy feel of Dr. Ebbetts.

Execellent album. I'm a completist and audiophile and I love disecting the beatles and listen to all the musical nuiances. Dr. Ebbetts work on Love Songs is above reproach. Warm and clear. A must have for completists. You would never know it's straight from vinyl. I did notice one thing when I listen to You've Got to Hide Your Love away. Since this album was released in 1977 in the UK and the US, the stereo mix presented on this album sounds just like George Martin's 1986 New Stereo Mix. I did a back to back comparison with the original 1965 UK and US Stereo Help! Albums for this song and it sounds like a wide stereo mix (i.e. guitar starts on the far left). The 1986 stereo mix sounds more narrow (i.e. the guitar starts closer to centre left). Therefore, the stereo mix of this song on the Love album sounds just like the 1986 stereo mix. But how is this possible seeing as George Martin Didn't do a new stereo mix of this song until 9 years later. Just putting it out there. Is it possible that Capitol decided to narrow the stereo mix of this song before George Martin got to it first?. This version is definitely not the version found on the 1965 US stereo Help! soundtrack or the 1965 UK Stereo LP.
