In terms of sound quality, this is a pretty good disk. the way it is set up may not be the best, although there are some real gems on this cd. Take 7 of SHES A WOMAN is just great, 6 minutes or more of some of Pauls best vocalizing a.k.a. Little Richard Penniman. MAILMAN BRING ME NO MORE BLUES is also quite nice, have to listen again but i believe it has the complete intro that is cut off elsewhere. DEAR PRUDENCE is a lovely sounding alternate version, clear sounding. THE STRAWBERRY FIELDS cuts are also quite interesting- the classic Chuck Berry song CAROL is BBC material, sounds just great - according to several sources I have read, this may actually be the only version of CAROL recorded by the Beatles - the HEY JUDE cut is a good sounding performance but a bit fuzzy/muffled in the sound department. also SUZY PARKER from the Jan 69 get back sessions, sounds like a good song, but is a bit fuzzy/muffled/not clear sounding. thus some pretty good material on this disk, not the best thematically organized, sort of all over the board, but some of the real highlights more than compensate - TAKE 7 OF SHES A WOMAN, MAILMAIN BRING ME NO MORE BLUES, DEAR PRUDENCE.

For it's time this was a very great CD. Now, with Anthology and other more complete boot sources for various Beatle session work, this looses a few points.

Not a bad disc, but i think this is were Condor finally ran out of gas. this is the worst in the series. They seemed to be reaching on this one. Its still good quality though, it definetly has its gems

I thought these Condor CD's were the best thing since sliced bread when they first came out in 1989. In fact, they are what ignited my ambition to collect bootlegs to begin with.
Since '89 there have been several better bootleg releases of the material contained in/on the condor releases (Vigotone releases are far superior), however the Condor CD's will always hold a warm spot in my heart.

This has some good stuff, but it's all available elsewhere. Go to "Sea of Green" for "The Barber of Seville" in better quality, and Purple Chick collections and even "Anthology" for everything else. Plus, the quality makes one think of being outside on a humid day. "Spiritual Regeneration" is a fun song, and I always like the orchestral "Strawberry Fields," but this was never a favorite of mine.
