Liner notes: "McCartney vocal (no backing) July 18/69". In fact, it's from an overdub session, probably from 26 Apr 1969.

Two possible dates: 26 Apr 1969 (take 26+overdubs) or 17 Jul 1969 (take 16+overdubs). The first date is usually assumed.

Take 2 is a 6:36 performance.
This was recorded live without overdubs and some instruments are hidden in the background.
The take 2 that surfaced is in very poor quality although it's found on stereo on some bootlegs.

This was the very first Beatleg that I ever bought and I have some very fond memories of it. Although almost all of the material is pretty much commonplace nowadays and the sound quality on some tracks is not very good (The Walk and Across the Universe), I still enjoy it. It is a nice grabbag of various outtakes and the SFF takes are always a joy to hear, of course. If yer just starting out, this is a good point to launch your collection from. However, if you've been collecting for a while, you probably already have this stuff - and in better sound quality.

Nothing new here, but still a neat little retrospect. The highlights on this one for me are the very clean Stawberry Fields and I Feel Fine (with a different feel).

I've owned this CD for 10 years or so now, and I really have fond feelings for it. The Condor series was a nice set. If you run across any of them they are worth picking up as they really give you your money's worth.

Love this Beatleg!

The CD edition is missing one of the two rarest tracks of the LP edition: The acoustic version of 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)' performed for Radio Israel at the Bed-In! (the other rare is 'Across The Universe')
Why???
Also missing are the NME 1965 Musical Awards tracks.

Missing on the LP are Tracks 1 and 16 to 26.

Great collection and worth a listen!

A nice scattered boot for it's time. Now slightly obsolite.

Just a funny note. I several of the condor cds at the same time, and my buddy bought this one and i copied it. the funny thing i remember, is that back then most cd players didnt go past 20(?) track or so on the digital counter. and 21-25 would not register on the counter! i just thought that was amusing.

I thought these Condor CD's were the best thing since sliced bread when they first came out in 1989. In fact, they are what ignited my ambition to collect bootlegs to begin with.
Since '89 there have been several better bootleg releases of the material contained in/on the condor releases (Vigotone releases are far superior), however the Condor CD's will always hold a warm spot in my heart.
