This issue by Gold Standard is by far the best version of this show. Killer performance and housed in a nice glossy slipcase. My copy says "from non-eq'd master tape". I would highly recommend this title. Early Who at their best.

Great sounding soundboard.
It's really nice to hear live versions of Little Billy and Relax.

The Who, post-Monterey and pre-Tommy, at their energetic best. Unfortunately, the rarely played Relax fades out during the great psychedelic jam, and the beginning of A Quick One is missing. Still, this is an awesome disc and a must-have for any fan of the 'orrible 'Oo!

Interesting note: at the climax of A Quick One, instead of Pete saying 'You're all forgiven,' he says 'that certain person who shot that certain person is forgiven.' Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated the day before this show.

Fillmore East 1968 - Top Class!

according to Pete's pre-song dialogue, "Fortune Teller" was played only for the 2nd time ever by them this gig. IT DESTROYS!!! forget the "bluesy" version on the remastered "Live At Leeds"!!! and, the way it segues into "Tattoo"...AMAZING!!! makes the LP version of "Tattoo" sound like some throw-away acoustic demo. this is how they should have released it!!!

also, even though "A Quick One" has the start chopped, its almost as long as any officially rekleased version...

this bootleg has all the STOMP & RAW missing on officially released product without sacrificing any type of quality. any WHO fan who hasnt ever heard this will NOT be disappointed!!!

arguably the BEST ever who bootleg ive ever heard. i havent heard them all, but of the 50 or so ive experienced, this is TOP!!! a perfect soundboard that sounds like youre there in the 3rd row center rocking out with the crowd. this is what its all about!!!

(well, OK, Roger gets down & holds the Mic a little far from his face at times, so his voice isnt Totally "out front" a couple times throughout, but you know what i mean...)

Better than "Live At Leeds" in my opinion!
