This CDR release seems somewhat 'overproduced' to my ears.
In the attempt to artificially boost the sound-level of
the guitars- the drums & bass are pretty much
'missing in action', on this Sister Morphine release.
Under My Thumb is, in fact, a studio creation, digitally
editing portions of the incomplete version of UMT from the
master tape.

Vinyl Gang has released two far more sonically-interesting
versions of this show:
One being "The Original Live'r Than You'll Ever Be",
from the complete unadulterated audience master tape-

The other is the Soundboard tape of this same show,
entitled "Oakland 1969" (not the entire concert, but
an incredible listen nonetheless).

Historically, this was the second or third bootleg ever made, right after the Beatle's GET BACK ACETATE, and Dylan's GREAT WHITE WONDER. FOr that reason alone, buy it. Problems with the product, which is done as best as possible, include artwork that is unfortunately printed much too darkly, and the CD-R (golden in color), instead of a factory made CD. But, the songs are hot, the show is fantastic, and is sure to be worth the money, if you can find it. The sound problems, that Sister Morphine fixed, dont bother me, because i would rather something like a complete show. I can see that the sound was sort of dark, but an equalizer, or just a turn of the treble knob, can fix it.

Magnificent! One can see why after this, GWW & Get Back the world went underground to find bootlegs! Great show, great sound. Just great, really!

I have 2 cd's titled under this name, I see this one here says "2nd" show.Is there a "1st" show available? I have one that has an intro explaining why they were late and they have electrical problems after Jumpin'Jack and play Prodigal Son next. Same set list just different order and less effected sound.

A great, great show by the Stones.

This package is superb, with original 1969 vintage tour glossy pictures and a written history of Live R.

I have several different versions of this show, and to me, this perticular version sounds just a bit "raw" from over-equalizing or mastering.

A very nice production however.

Jumping Jack Flash and Under My Thumb were omitted from the original early releases of this show, because they had some annoying drop-outs and flaws on the original master tapes.

These are gone, and have been fixed wonderfully by Sister Morphine.

So you do get the entire show, as it was played in excellent sound fidelity.

Sound fidelity is just a bit raw-sounding, from some tweaking of the original tapes by Sister Morphine compared to other releases of this show.

However, the mastering has this recording playing at the right speed, contrary to some that are a bit under or over in speed pitch.

There is NO drop-out in the first few bars of Little Queenie, as evident on some recordings.

This set was taken from the original master Tmoq (Trade Mark Of Quality) master tapes.

Live R was the very first Rolling Stones bootleg, and it's release caused Decca Records to release the official Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out concert album to counteract illegal sales.

Overall a great, great release of a very historic bootleg.

Highly recommended....
