The above listing is incorrect as far as the source of "one after 909" and "catswalk". These are listed on the album as EMI studio rehearsals and not cavern club rehearsals. The quality varies from good to excellent with the weakest being If you've got trouble. It was one of the best boots to come out at the time just for having the versions of paperback writer, i've got a feeling, and do you want to know a secret. also the medley of songs from "around the beatles" is kind of nice to hear without all the screaming over it even though I would prefer to watch the video than just listen to the songs. But overall, this is an excellent addition to any collection. the back cover also has some great color photos from various points in time during their careers.

This is one album that you have to wonder why? There is nothing here but a nice jacket, the vinyl pressings are shit, I can remember a few years back when these were being dumped at $2 ea, I would not give you two cents. Many of the starts and endsare clipped, most came from a radio special the was produced by the BBC in the early 80's, you are better of finding the boot ofthe radio show, that is better quality. The fake Birthday track tells it all, you don't need this in your collection, but if you must go for the Cd, that is a little better!!
Review by: Than Heybly,On 23 Nov 2001
This one was good for its time (as were most of the NEMS releases), although all tracks (except perhaps the OOPSed "Birthday") are now available elsewhere and generally in better sound quality. The copy I had was an OK pressing for an underground release, and the jacket was nice.

This is normal nems shit, the guy who did these though he was God's gift to bootlegrs, just an idoit, the only thing he could do was do nice covers, he should have offered his services out to "real bootlegers" Just check out the Birthday track, that shows just how smart the idot was that made this crap. The market was once flooded with Nems records as well as the BAG label he did, He often wondered why his stuff would not sell, he would pass the blame off on others, he should have looked in his own backyard for the answeres, this is one joker I would like to have met in the back alley, he gave bootlegers a bad name. I remember whan the full nems catalog was dumped at $2 each, you call tha hard up.

It's not that bad. Something to add to my Beatleg collection. Gave it a play then put it in my record collection.

Mr.Starlight has a personal beef with the maker of NEMS so his opinions on Not For Sale,Nothing Is Real etc... are all unfair.
This was a great boot back in the day. Some of the tracks are taken from a radio show, but not BBC.It was the Westwood One series 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band:A History Of The Beatles Years' and is woprth seeking out but these days everything included in the show (and on these NEMS boots) is available in almost perfect qulaity.
All of these boots had 'first time' tracks on them.

NEMS were great back in the day. All of their releases had something new on them. Now all superseeded of course but back then, they were the bees knees.

From what I remember Starlight records was total TRASH ,they were the ones nobody would buy & till this day I wouldn't put $1 down for their trash also the worst b/w covers ever made!
Review by: thomisweb01On 07 Dec 2010 at 10:35 CEST
I have to say, It is very ok.
How Do You Do is very good quality. I bought this back in the 80s in Switzerland - it was really impressive to get unknown Beatles songs like Goodbye and Bad to Me and others. Still to this day, Bad to Me has never been officially released. It is for me one of the most charming songs from John. Though with Internet, you can download it "anywhere" - yet this is a real record, much better - mp3/CD-R does not live. Item sells around 35 USD now... I don't care about Birthday remix, never liked the song anyway.... cheers Thomas
