From Doc Ebbetts
"By far, the most requested project for the Dr. Ebbetts Sound System is the remastering of the famed BLUE BOX set released in December, 1978. To many, this set offers among the best representation of the original UK stereo releases.
The Ebbetts catalogue has always offered both the MOBILE FIDELITY and ORIGINAL UK STEREO versions of the British titles. Indeed, up until now, the audio used in each of these sets were identical. The only thing that differentiated, for example, the MFSL version of “Please Please Me” from the standard UK issue of the same title in the Ebbetts catalogue was the artwork. Otherwise, the two were identical.
That will now change. The standard UK stereo issues, complete with the original artwork, will slowly be phased in to have the BLUE BOX transfers used as their source material.
These new BLUE BOX releases replicate with far more accuracy, the artwork of the original releases, right down to the Emitex logo on the back."

Another excellent DESS release. In my opinion, this even tops my previous favourite release of 'Please Please Me', namely Dr. Ebbetts' Hörzu 'Die Beatles' CD. 'Die Beatles' sounds a bit dull compared to this new Blue Box Remaster, as if this source is one generation nearer the master. 'Die Beatles' also run at slightly wrong speed. The Blue Box CD has some very, very slight speed problems (not as in "pitch", but in "warpage", and that's not present on 'Die Beatles') but they are hardly noticeable and doesn't distract from the overall pleasure of hearing this transfer. Get this release and avoid the EQ'd MFSL sourced CD's that's been around for so long. Superb!

I found MOST of the songs sounded better than "Die Beatles", but I preferred the HorZu "Ask Me Why", "Please Please Me", "P.S. I Love You", "Taste of Honey", "There's A Place", and "Twist and Shout". So, I created my own combination. I'm not exactly sure why some sound better from here and some from "Die Beatles", but to my ears that seems to be the case.

This one IS quieter then "Die Beatles" (DB has a little more hiss).
