Quite possibly one of THE best Elton shows to be captured on tape, it is totally amazing to me that this was never released legitimately. Elton performs many songs here, that he normally doesn't do live, such as "Sweet Painted Lady" (one of my personal favorites), "Roy Rogers", "Dan Dare", "I Feel Like A Bullet", "Goodbye" and "Ticking" (another of my personal all-time favorites). This concert was an acoustic charity concert, performed just by Elton and percussionist Ray Cooper, it features crystal clear sound as it is a soundboard recording. Elton is also in fine form vocally and his piano playing is strong. If you are a fan of classic '70's Elton material, you HAVE to have this recording!

I agree. To me this is THE best EJ boot/show for performance and song selection. My best vocal award would go to the Edinburg Playhouse 76 solo show.
Get it!

The precurser to the 1979 "Back In The USSA" tour where it was just Elton & Ray Cooper. Cage the Song Bird is a nice treat. Most of the songs work. Elton is indeed in fine voice. Some songs, like Dan Dare, Take Me To The Pilot, & Saturday Night just need that guitar boost, but I am being slightly picky. This is another must for Elton fans. A grand trip back to the good old days of Elton in his prime!
