in a word : Awesome. top notch soundboard, an excellent show where the acoustics are mindblowing & the banter is, despite tensions at the time, actually quite chummy. a must have if only from the segue between ( the acoustic! ) Cinnamon Girl / Down by the River & 49 Bye Byes / Americas Children.

CSN+Y Live at the Fillmore East. **WOW** Recorded live as it happened at Bill Graham's legendary Fillmore East on 05th June 1970. A complete show, professionally recorded by CSN+Y engineer Bob Halverson. After the release in early 1970 of their highly anticipated album: Deja Vu, CSN+Y embarked on a huge North American tour in the late spring 1970. In early June (02-07th) they hit New York City and played 5 sold-out nights at the legendary Bill Graham's Fillmore East. All of the shows were professionally recorded, for inclusion in an anticipated live album. Many, many performances from the tour were recorded by CSN+Y, but the majority that ended up on the official 4-Way Street live album were culled from shows later at the end of June and early July. CSN+Y used show performances from the LA Forum, Chicago and Boston for 4-Way Street. None of the performances on 4-Way Street were taken from this run at the Fillmore East. Too Bad.....as they cut the offical 4-Way Street album by miles for performance and sound quality. Sound is superb soundboard, professionally mixed and recorded....and that is an understatement... ! Sound quality doesn't get any better than this...this could be officially released.....it's that good. Performance wise...probably the finest CSN+Y show you will find.....much, much better than 4-Way Street. The shows at the Fillmore East should have been the ones CSN+Y chose for 4-Way Street. Compared to the official 4-Way Street, much tighter performances and harmonies. This is available with 3-bonus tracks from the next nights show on 05th June on a two CD set: Read The Airplane. It also is in superb sound..... CSN+Y also professionally filmed shows from this tour. That film, and all of these Fillmore East shows remain locked away in possession of Neil Young. He was photographed a few years ago standing in front of a shelf showing the master reels of these performances. Any of the CSN+Y Fillmore East shows are highly, highly recommended....all have been recorded in superb sound.... CSN+Y and the Fillmore East were symbols of a generation past, spokespersons for the 1960's..... Sit back, and be carried back to June 1970 with this superb CD set recording...... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.......!!!
