Comments
It is much heralded amongst Beatle people for being a version of that first LP that has not been subjected to any processing or equalization. In effect, it is advertised as the "truest" and "purest" vinyl represntation of the initial 14 Beatle songs ever offered in long play form. It has been sourced from a beautiful copy of the original LP.

Amazing

Listening to this beautiful disc and realizing it is 40 year old vinyl almost brings a tear to ones eye!
Needless to say, you can believe the hype about "Die Beatles" - it's definitley cleaner and crisper than the UK stereo version, and as usual, the Doc's transfer puts the official cds to shame.

This is the real deal folks -- believe the hype! Compare this to the MoFi Please Please Me Ebbetts -- you WILL hear a difference. Definitely the best version of this album I've ever heard.

Excellent sounding CD!!

I listened to a copy of Mirror Spock's "Die Beatles" and this one (an original Ebbetts). Get this one if you need a copy of the stereo "Die Beatles". The good doctor's version is clean and crisp sounding. Mirror Spock's suffers from attempts at removing vinyl noise and the additional material - Please Please Me mono - is a yawn.

received this yesterday and it lives up to expectations and beyond if I could I would give it 11 out of 10 ! there is a crisp clarity to the sound but it is as warm sounding as any Ebbetts transfer. This version is the best sounding I have heard with so much space surrounding the instruments and especially the backing vocals. Its gotta be the holy grail for this release.

Must Have! Must Have! Must Have! Seek out the original vinyl if you have a decent turntable, but this is a good substitue for those viynl-challenged folks.

The piano bit on "Misery" is so nice as is the rest of the album. Another great release from Dr. Ebbetts.

Astonishing. To me this sounds more natural and richer than the MFSL transfer, I agree with daveman_84. Looking forward to comparing it to the Blue Box Ebbetts remaster.

And it's even louder! I love this version

Sound-wise, this is great. It is clear, and I would have to say it is better sounding than the Blue Box remaster.

BUT.

This definitely has speed problems. It is faster. Maybe by .33rpm (and is probably due to a production error in Germany?)

The sound is great, but that speed problem is bothersome to me... all i can hear is higher-pitched everything! ;)
Just be warned.

Regarding chris8519's post:

Dr. Ebbetts is aware of this, and is currently re-dropping it at the correct speed. Coming soon... :-)
Review by: fjm630On 27 Jul 2009 at 18:13 CEST
With Dr. Ebbetts announcing his retirement earlier this month (terrible news, by the way!), has "Die Beatles" been re-dropped (per Traxinet's post)?
Best wishes to the Doc for his massive contributions to Beatledom. When all is said and done, nobody did it consistently better!! DESS rules!!
