Does this seem to run a bit fast to anyone else? Otherwise
it is a typically great performance, and the sound is very
good when compared to shows from the same era. Its not quite
complete.

Unfortunately this is an incomplete show but one of the best sounding bootlegs from the '72 tour known for scarcity of good quality Who shows. If you liked Toronto '75 you will like this one. The sound quality is comparable and the performance is excellent as usual.

Comments: Danish Treat is another very good release from Substitute Recordings.
This recording is just a notch below Live In Toronto 12-11-75 (CD) (Substitute
Recordings 382-828332-2) in quality, which can be interpreted as a very good re-
cording, especially when compared to other recordings from the 1971/1972 period
that are available. This one generally has pretty full and clear sound, although RD's
vocals and harmonica occasionally seem slightly faint compared to the rest of the
group (a slight increase of the mid- range helped in correcting this deficiency). There
is also some detectable hiss on some of the quieter songs which is hardly a com-
plaint given the overall quality of the recording. There does not appear to be a lot of
audience interaction (did the band not really talk to the folks in Copenhagen, or was
the banter edited out?) - either way, there does not appear to be a noticeable "editing
chop" between songs. The only downside to this release is that it is missing Naked
Eye at the end, and possibly part of the My Generation Jam. The CD comes in a
typical plastic case with paper inserts that include some very good concert photos
(not necessarily from Copenhagen), and an interesting photo of KM wearing a Mc-
Govern '72 t-shirt while holding an Olympia beer!). The CD itself is red in color and
on the inside portion states "Mitsui CD-R". However, all original discs of this CD
state this as opposed to CD-R's that omit this and are usually on a blue colored
disc and the artwork is generally somewhat darker as well. Grab this one if you can
find it - you will not be disappointed!

At the time, The Who had not played together in front of an audience for a year while Pete was working and having a nervous breakdown doing LIFEHOUSE/WHO'S NEXT.
Pete was drunk before the show and their playing along to the prerecorded synthesizer tapes had not been perfected (note how the opening minute of RELAY is a total disaster!)
However John's strong and stable playing saves the day.
Roger voice is in top form as well.

Great show - great quality - lousy bootleg cover!
Had to make my own once again!
