Comments
This is an excellent copy of the United Artists US stereo release of the "A Hard Day's Night" soundtrack. The artwork is very nice quality. The sound is great, it has the warmth and richness of a vinyl LP, without the noise of vinyl. Capitol and UA couldn't (and probably wouldn't) have done better.
These mixes are not true stereo, but mono mixes processed to sound like stereo (duophonic).
This was sourced from a previously unopened LP, and processed with a minimal amount of noise reduction software, and nothing more.

THIS EXAMPLE ALONG WITH THE GOOD DOCTORS OTHER USA CAPITAL EFFORTS FILLS A VOID FOR THE BEATLE COLLECTOR THAT WAS MUCH NEEDED FOR YEARS . HIS WORK SONICLY REVEALS A WARM RICH SOUND JUST AS WAX PROVIDES WITHOUT CLICKS OR POPS . THE GRAPHICS ARE STUNNING AND A VISUAL OF HIS CDS DISPLAYS A PROFESSIONAL LOOK . ITS ALL HERE A SLENDID TIME IS GUARANTEED FOR ALL AUDIOPHILES .

5 stars for the quality of the sound and the artwork.

But you should remember:

This record don't have the original stereo versions. United Artists used the original mono versions and reprocessed them into stereo instead of releasing the excisting stereo-mixes.

And:

You have to be brought up in the US to love this record at all. What the hell has those awful instrumentals to do with a Beatles recording??? They are sounding like a parody to me. And of course I'm missing the other 5 songs of the original release, which ended up on other obscure Capitol releases. In my opinion, the american public was raped with this release policy. But of course I can understand the needs for our american friends to listen to this, 'cause it's a part of their Beatles-life. But to get the real thing, try Dr. Ebbett's mono and stereo versions of the british originals, they are better than the official cd's.

The Fabs themselves never would have allowed to release such a record under their name, if they would have had an influence.

Herbert, Germany, Europe :-)

Listening to this CD takes me back to the days of anticipation before the film debuted in my town. It was thrilling to hear this album for the first time, in 1964. And, it is thrilling to hear it now. Yes, even the funky instrumentals. They were typical of movie music in those days.
The sound quality is wonderful. I know it's not real stereo, but it conjures up feelings for many of us who fondly remember "Beatlemania". To me, these songs sound so "right" in this track order, because this is the way it was presented to us here in the US.
I really recommend this CD to those who remember listening to this on vinyl. It sounds EXACTLY the same, sans ticks and pops.

This really brings it back for a 2nd Gen Beatle nut (1978)...
The graffics are amazing!
The recording is the American UA mix, so its not that great really, the Capitol versions on later LPS of these songs are better but its the REAL UA mixes with the goofy movie music and thats why I bought this version...
its very hard to detect any vinyl noise on this...
Very classy!

This is too cool! Just like the album that I played to death. To have this on cd with the original artwork and such superb sound is a dream come true for those of us who grew up in the U.S. with these albums. Outstanding!

Most excellent for listening pleasure, but y'all need the millennium remasters too for LP sound & to research studio mistakes....

Why on earth did UA release the Beatles' tracks in Duophonic and the cheesy instrumental version in real stereo? Humm... I grew up with this lame version and I'm happy the Doc released it! Top quality transfer as usual.

It's too Bad "A Hard Day's Night" is not stereo, otherwise, its a great addition to any Beatles collection.
