Splendid collection, excellent sound thoughout. "Sue Me Sue You Blues" demo is particularly exciting, very nice bottle neck guitar from Mr. Harrison. Some errors in the booklet but otherwise first rate.

For Harrison collectors, this is a must have. I have heard a lot of bootlegs in my time, most with poor sound quality, but this disc is excellent throughout. Even if you don't normally collect bootlegs, this one is essential. The inclusion of the songs left off the original version of Somewhere In England alone make this essential; unless of course you own the Genesis Publications of Songs of George Harrison 1 & 2 which, believe me, have a hefty price tag, if you can find them. If you own only one Harrison bootleg, this has got to be it.

Stellar group of Harrison outtakes and rarities !!!
The sound quality, as on all vigotone releases, is excellent !!!
They also present the best packaging, be it bootleggers or the "Real Record" biz bar none.
The follow up release "12 Arnold Rd" is also one to seek out.

A great album. One I have played many times. The sound quality is mostly very good. Why was the version of Miss O'dell that is on this album not the official release?

Just like it's counterpart (12 Arnold Grove), this is an excellent CD of rare and impossible-to-find tracks by George. This is one of my favorite bootlegs of all-time and it will be yours too if you like George's music! BUY THIS DISC!!!!

What, another great disc from Vigatone? Absoultly! Most of the tracks in excellent stereo with the hard to find "Mo" and the great "Miss O'Dell." Another Must Have from Vigatone! Great packaging too!
Review by: MATT, Spadygrove@aol.comOn 28 Oct 2001
Stellar packaging, track list, and sound quality make this title an essential.

Watch out for badly made pirate copies of PIRATE SONGS. The original VIGOTONE, comes in a box sleave, with a beautiful full color booklet, showing George's guitar collection. ALso includes discriptions of the songs, and great photos. Now for the music. INCREDIBLE! This is one that you want, period. Sound quality is tops. Includes demos, the songs from his rare and expensive books, GEORGE HARRISON, vol 1 and vol.2. "MO" is fun, and so is the Traveling Wilburys song. Pick it up.

Originally intended as a filler collection while we waited for a new George Harrison album to arrive, this turns out to be a massively great collection of rare Harrison tracks. It's the most listenable non-official CD of his solo material that I've ever had. A really nice compilation. Especially noticeable to me is the live version of "For You Blue", which proves George Harrison's 1974 touring band was his best. It's also as far as I can find, the best sounding live material from that tour available - it is genuine soundboard.
The quality of the songs and his singing and guitar playing on them all prove his greatness. It's like having a very good sampling of all his periods of releasing music up until the mid-1990s. The even greater part of it is there's more of everything on this disc that a person can track down elsewhere in more detail. [But maybe not in as great sound quality as here.]

Another excellent release, a companion piece to the equally fun 12 Arnold Grove. A compilation of rare tracks, that more importantly, are a fun listen! Recommended.

Easily my favorite Hari boot - I throw this on more often than some of his legit LPs! 12 Arnold Grove is also excellent.

It's all said: this one plus 12AG form a nice pair of unreleased GH trax! Not just for the archive, but a fun to play now and then, too.

This is definitely the best George boot out there. Not only are all the tracks rare and collectible, the sound quality is quite good and the replay value is very high. I find myself listening to this CD just as much as any of the official Harrison albums. The packaging is also very nice with extensive liner notes, rare pics, a look at some of George's guitars, and some beautiful illustrations and artwork. It is quite hard to find an original copy of this one now, and even harder to find one at a decent price, but it is still worth it to have an original as the whole package is quite superb.

*BTW, the version of Dark Horse on here is not a demo, it is actually a performance from George's appearance on the Rock Around The World radio show with Alan Freeman in 1974.
