As we continue to draw ever-closer to completing the American Beatles catalogue, this latest addition has been a long time coming. The mono version has, of course, been available in the Ebbetts catalogue for a while (an upgrade for the mono version of this LP is coming next time). This new transfer is taken from the original VJ LP. As you know, out of the twelve total tracks, only four are Beatles tracks (two of which are actually in mono), but all the Frank Ifield stuff is in stereo (for those who dig Frank). This version features the famous "old man" on the LP front - also known as the "face cover" - and actually goes by the title of "Jolly What! England's Greatest Recording Stars. The Beatles and Frank Ifield On Stage." This was the original variation as released by VJ in February, 1964.

Another version is the second artwork variation, featuring a portrait of the band on the cover - the same picture used on the "Love Me Do" 45 picture sleeve on Tollie Records, incidentally. The new cover was meant to bolster sales, but it didn't. This features the same audio as the previous variation. The actual title is "England's Greatest Recording Stars. The Beatles and Frank Ifield On Stage."

You can find both cover variations as HQ scans with this draftfile.
