Comments
This CD contains all available tracks of the "Rooftop Concert", just as on YD015, mono. They are a bit reprocessed here - some slight echo is mixed into the extreme left and right to make it sound less dry.
Tracks 10-22 are the same "Get Back" album compilation as YD014, minus "One After 909" which is on track 5 here already.
Unlike YD014 which was taken from an acetate and digitally declicked and denoised (which added some strange phasing artifacts over the stereo image), these tracks were taken from a stereo tape source, and are here presented "as nature intended", so there is some tape noise and some drop outs. But the recording may have more crispness preserved here.
I would not say that the recordings sound better than the Yellow Dog material.

Great compilation here folks. The complete rooftop concert in the best quality sound I've come across personally. The 1st master tape compilation of Glyn Johns "Get Back" LP which follows the rooftop tracks is also outstanding. The CD liners, photos, etc. are also top shelf. As the owner of a variety of Beatle "boots" over the past 25 years, I can proudly say I was delighted to add this one to my collection. Get one if you can!

A cool release! This is where you'll finally hear the ENTIRE rooftop concert, and not just the 20 or so minutes shown in the movie LET IT BE. The rooftop performance is reason enough to buy this bootleg - skip the same old Get Back album (mind you - the GET BACK album tracks aren't even in excellent quality and the unintelligent people at Vigotone removed the GET BACK mix of One After 909! - Whoops!) Buy this disc!!!

This was the first bootleg I ever bought. I was nervous about quality, and the price (24.00 for the cd)scared me (at the time). Then I got home and listened to it.Pure Bliss!!!!! I only own 5 or 6 bootlegs (so far) but I couldn't have started off with a better disc to make me a new lifetime hunter of quality bootlegs. If you don't own any bootlegs, start with this one, if you don't have the rooftop concert yet, this is the one to buy!!

Truely a masterpiece and to own and piece of musical history is just incredible. Great quality.
I do have to disagree with the comment that the Get Back album version on Yellow Dog has a better sound quality. The YD version was lifted off a Vinyl, not acetate and was denoised and declicked very poorly. So much so that it squashed the high end out and it seems that the overall sound mix was artificially enhanced with an exciter of some sort. Owning both the Vigatone version and the YD version, I ripped the CDs to WAV files and brought them up on Wavelab 3.0 to compare side by side and I noticed major differences in aural characteristics and fidelity quality. This version is much better sounding and closer to the original as opposed to YD's version which misses the subtle nuances in the background such as the chatter during the false start of "For You Blue", and also the distinct plucking of George's Tele on the intro to "I'v Got a Feeling" is more pronounced and sounds alive. One thing I also noticed was the sound of a child voice after Let It Be. I thought it was Yoko, b!ut it sounds more like a little girl talking in babble.
Finally, this is the best sounding mix of the Get Back album version #1 I've heard so far, compared to the other version I've heard. Believe me, I've been collecting these puppies(The Get Back albums) since 1985 and so far this one takes the prize.

Can't be beat for the 'Rooftop Concert', a real treat to listen to, and a must for the collection.

i own many-a beatle/solo rare tapes and althought i have a vast majority of '69 get back sessions on vinyl that hasn't yet reached the cd market yet. i must say i was disapointed with the yellow dog 015 complete rooftp concert. it sounds as though someone used a cassete w/ an auto level recording makink for the breaks and chat inbetween songs boosted up to the level of the music and in turn the first few notes on every song sounds overloads and then calms down. this also happens during some of the paul shouts and it makes for annoying listening. so i hope this version is much more true to the master tape which i'm sure dosn't have this annoying feature

I believe this is the BEST place to find the rooftop concert on a single disc. It is all right there, and it sounds good.
Review by: cimrya dealOn 30 Dec 2003 at 15:09 CEST
I don't care about all these sound stuff... The only important thing to me is to put the CD on my stereo and to ask myself: 'is THIS good ?'.
And gosh, this IS good ! While listening to the rooftop concert I can't help closing my eyes and imagining the Beatles playing in front of me and the mess it must have been in Londin at the time...
Really some great stuff. Especially the end of it...John having trouble remembering his own lyrics on Don't Let Me Down or Paul McCartney singing Get Back and trying not to laugh when seeing bobbies coming to 'stop that noise'.

The Get Back Mix is the Get Back mix i.e. some like it some don't... I personnaly like it...

Strangely, on the "Get Back" version 1 part of the CD, it's not all there!! The rejected Lp's opening track, "One After 909", is totally absent!! Otherwise this does seem to be the best CD out there if you want the complete rooftop concert!!!

The title sounds like an ad for an herbal laxative.
Review by: mojofilterOn 25 Nov 2004 at 08:30 CEST
still one of my favorites...wish they would release a rooftop show cd from the actual masters....why didnt glyn johns use more of the rooftop show in his acetate? dont let me down, ive got a feeling, and dig a pony are so much more polished, but yet raw....a must have!!!!
Review by: loboOn 02 Dec 2004 at 16:50 CEST
The rooftop concert in full version is good. But Glyn Johns 1st "Get Back" mix sounds not too good to my ears. I think Phil did a better job.
Review by: jmnic63On 06 Sep 2005 at 01:58 CEST
A wonderful disc. This is how the Beatles intended us to to here the Get Back album warts and all. The rooftop concert sounds great. Crank it up!

I know their was something special about this disc , one of my faves. But now that I a/b'd it there is slight reverb which isn't a bad thing!
Review by: thbernsterOn 23 Sep 2012 at 12:30 CEST
I just bought this disc on-line and was worried about its authenticity. Well to my amasement it is the real deal. Matrix match. The sound quality is excellent. Just another note no one has mentioned that Get Back has also been left off the Glyn Johns 1st compilation, on this disc.
