Classic stuff, this!
Excellent sound quality, some very fine performances from when the lads could still do it live and be exciting (unlike Tokyo concerts two years later!).
I still reckon their first show is the best - with lots of little snippets of 'production chat' which add to the overall feel.
Basically, you need this CD.

This is WONDEERFUL to hear!

A fine fine document of a more innocent time and a valuable record of the Beatles playing live while they still cared. You can hear the frustration already starting, though...(John: "SHUT UP WHILE 'E'S TALKIN'!").

This is a VERY enjoyable disc. I think it is the best disc out there to hear the Ed Sullivan performances. The sound is VERY good, and unlike other discs out there. The YD version is found on just one disc (which I always find more convenant). The Ed Sullivan performances are such an important historical even in the Beatles story, that this disc is a true must have for any Beatles fan. If you see it, GET IT!

THE Beatles concert.

I Agree With the above reviews, this is the Beatles at their live best. The joy of performing live is very evident (Though I did get a kick out of john saying Shut up while he's talking!!) This is a must buy disc if you see it, it outshines all other live discs I've heard in terms of both sonic quality and playing. 10+ Stars!!

This is a must have for the Beatles playing "Live"
Great to have ALL Ed Sullivan performances including an afternoon rehearsal, on one disc!

True classic album...
Review by: JonPerryOn 13 Dec 2002 at 06:23 CEST
I love this record. You can really tell that the group are going for it. You can almost smell the sense of urgency and expecatation in the air. Parts of it raise the hair on my neck - Its obvious history is being created here. The first five (or so) tracks sound like they came off the direct broadcast feed. Great sound for TV of this era! Buy it if you can find it -trade for it if you can. JUST GET IT!

the best live Beatles recordings out there.

Nice collection! Good sound and complete!
Review by: MorninggloryseedOn 22 Jun 2008 at 20:44 CEST
10 out of 10. I am blown away by the quality. This replaces the 66 tokyo shows as 'best live beatle recordings' because here, the lads sounded like they are having fun. Gold, and EMI...take note....this is one of many things you could release that the fans would buy.
