Never saw this pic of Paul sitting in on a 1967 Stones session before. Could this be the We Love You session?
Anyone recognize the tabla player on the floor?

Yes, it's (probably) the Olympic Studios.
The guy sitting down is definitely not Nicky Hopkins, though.....

I admit I thought for a moment it could be Charlie Watts - you can tell I`m not a Stones expert, but checking out a photo of him I figured for one the nose doesn`t fit.

Had to google that name - seems to be a percussionist that worked with Hendrix as well as Bill Wyman - didn`t a find a photo of him though.

I couldn't find his picture either. But I believe he played on (a version) of Sympathy for the Devil too.

Wasn't Rocky the african percussionist who played with the Stones at Hyde Park and with Hendrix at the Albert Hall?

Aren`t there any Stones experts that can help us?
If they are as scientific as Beatles fans they`d immidiatly be able to tell us who this is, where this is and judging by the hat of Keith during which timeframe he wore it.

There's a guy on the main site that reviews a ton of Stones stuff ( Imagine that a review in the reviews section ). He seems very knowlegeable and goes by the name of Cooley. You could pm him and ask him if he wants to play.

Found it. The guy is Prince Stash Klossowski de Rola, who hung with the band in the late Sixties and got busted with Brian Jones in '67. He went on to produce The Dirty Strangers - featuring both Keith Richards and Ron Wood - which he issued on his own Thrill Records label.

There's another small picture of him and BJ here (click on it to make it bigger):

Well done.

Never heard of him.I wonder if he was one of the guys Macca used to get to try out his drugs to see if they were ok for him to use?

Next part of picture puzzle is to date it.

I laughed at how your link described him:

Quote:
Music journalist Mark Paytress tracks down the mysterious Stash, or Prince Stanislaus Klossowski de Rola - friend of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, exotic dandy and lover, actor, musician, aristocrat and son of the controversial artist Balthus.
