I was Googling trying to find "George Harrison - The Making Of All Things Must Pass Isolated" (which I had just discovered while searching for related George items) and came across this forum with all kinds of Beatles, solo and other artists' goodies I didn't already have (and in some cases did not know about):

http://nevergetoutoftheboat.blogspot.com

The Megaupload links are the most reliable.

As for "The Making Of All Things Must Pass Isolated", I'd like to find this as well (it's a Magoocus upload). Anybody?

Some interesting stuff. Sadly it looks like they are all MP3's.

Many are at 320, if that helps. I've been at this place for hours now!

Why do people go to the trouble to share this great stuff but ruin it with compression? Especially 320, a FLAC is barely any larger.

yeah I can't figure that out either - why go thru all the trouble of burning/sharing only to share MP3?
:protest:

Well, the huge majority of internet users only want to download in MP3 and not in a lossless format, so I certainly understand. This forum being one of the exceptions, of course.

Hi Arno :hi:

Well we can all be proud or ourselve's for this forum having to be the exception to the rules of the majority. :D

Of course, I do think it's important that there are at least some people sharing in lossless format (I try to be one of them) and I certainly didn't want to insult this site or so. But yeah, we just got to accept that for most people, MP3 suffices..

I agree Arno though with such an eclectic collection and an obvious knowledge of music it does seem odd he would choose
to unveil his music this way.

You have to sift through a lot of stuff but this guy has some nice stuff in FLAC

and here

Arno, I think you took my post wrong. I wasn't in the slightest way at all implying that you were insulting BZ or any other site for that matter. I just simply meant that many of us who are older don't wish to collect Mp3's if we don't have to. Hence we'd all rather have things in lossless format or Flac or Wav files.

Heck I don't even own an IPod so if I listen to an Mp3 it just comes from my computer or if I was to copy any mp3 format titles/songs and just burn them to a CD-R so I could have alot of music to play if on a long ride in the car.

I didn't mean for you or ANYONE else to take my statement as it was just a thought I felt for many of us here.

I do still realize the importance of the Mp3 format to an entire generation out there.

Sure we all prefer lossless but I'm not picky, some of the music I like is so obscure that mp3 is just fine if I can't find it any other way.

I am a snob, but I also think it is only sensible that RARE, OOP material should be archived in the best available resolution. If people want to share Lady Gaga MP3s, more power to them.

If there is a one of a kind painting, do you have an expert photographer come in and take a detailed picture of it for archival purposes or do you just settle for a kid with a Polariod?

I just LOVE music, and I don't care much in what form or shape it comes...I rather have it in mp3 than don't have it at all...and, by the way, I'm snob!!!

If people want to save space, at least they should use ogg, far better quality than mp3, ogg compressed in level 8 (256 VBR) kills 320kbps mp3 in my opinion.

Not sure why you are calling someone a nob because they don't like mP3's. Pretty stupid.
