For anyone interested in old vinyl boots, their content and cover art or the TAKRL label specifically, I have started a blog at:

http://theamazingkornyfonelabel.wordpress.com/

Comments are welcome.

Once, I have gone through the TARL catalog, I will keep going with old vinyl boots that are still worth searching for.

Fun! The only one that I think was missed by burglars many years ago and hides somewhere in my basement now was an Elvis Costello Kornyfone.

A great idea , there is very little info out there on vinyl boots and it is all interesting.

TAKRL 1900 On stage

I think the Pink Tri color version you have as your many picture was a 1976 reissue with Black World Records labels when Ken was no longer working with the Doc

Are you looking to list just TAKRL issues or later issues after the collaboration of Ken and Doc broke up? There are numerous label variations used by Ken D. on the reissues but only one had TAKRL labels a B/W printed sleeve.

If you are adding reissues as well you may wish to add the B/W printed sleeve from late 1977 with a spunk label.

I have been working on a Ken D. family tree ad a label guide to help date variations and it is all a bit of a muddle.

Trying to put together any info on Ken D. labels is always difficult so good luck with the project.

I am starting with the basics and list each release with an as good as possible cover image and info on the real sources. I do not really plan to list every single cover & label variation but everyone can post comments and list what they know.

I'm planning to list later releases as well, after TAKRL was retired.

By the way, Moptop, do you have a list of those later issues after the collaboration of Ken and Doc broke up?

Now you asking a tough one. I'll knock together a page and post a link later as they can say so much more.

Same stamper
Spindizzie
World Records 1976
Blank Records 1977
TAKRL reissue 1977?
De Weintraub - Five Night In Judo Arena (B/W Sleeve) TAKRL Label
De Weintraub - Five Night In Judo Arena (Full Color Sleeve) TAKRL Label

Alternate Stamper - DW426 stamper
De Weintraub - tri-colour TAKRL cover - front and back slips
One source has said that the TAKRL pressing in the above cover, but this is unconfirmed

and to add to the confusion

Dub copied On stage on Pig's Eye which was then copied by some one .

eg Mushroom Records a Ken D label uses one of Dubs stampers but amended TAKRL artwork.

Then there is

CBM label

Tokyo Sixty Six - some copies have the same stamper but early(?) copies do not.

Did Ken joins forces , did CBM copy Ken's plates or did Ken issue some of his stock in CBM fake covers.

I am very much looking at releases from the matrix number as anything else was just to easy to copy.

Wizardo reused the cover also with 'the Beatles added to the image in a white box.

Just look at Get Back - Lemon Records for an idea of the problems.

Or the Wizardo records released by Ken.

Here is a very much working page for

The Beatles on Stage TAKRL 1900

Sorry I haven't located a HQ First Pressing image to add yet , If any one can help.

The Five Nights in A Judo Arena - De Weintraub is equally complicated with at least four different stampers of which two may be from the TAKRL stamper, as yo can see at least two releases had TAKRL labels. Both of these used the TAKRL Stamper.

I'll keep going through my notes and images of over a decade to see if I can fill some more gaps.

Cheers for this, I intend to cover most of the classic vinyl releases eventually and the focus is on providing as much background on what's actually on the record and supplying a decent cover image. I doubt I will be able to go into depth what was a first pressing, 2nd, etc, unless that info exists somewhere already.

I think when you look at the 75 posts that are there already, I did come up with some info that's never been assembled in one place like this.

Thanks! If I may say so myself, there is stuff on here that you don't find anywhere else.

Thankfully, wordpress gives you enough free space for enough images to last you thousands of posts. I just made post # 100 and have only used up 1% of my space allotment.

Knowing CBM, I am pretty sure they copied some of Ken's releases.

I'd love to own all of these different versions but I won't spend in the 5 figures to acquire every single boot variation ever made to look at matrixes. Hopefully, eventually people will share their knowledge.
