a guy called ''letmerollit'' (real name: Rand L. Bruckner, from Texas - USA) asked for half a dozen DVDs in exchange for paul mccartney's ''Amoeba's Secret'' 12-inch vinyl single.

i burned the DVDs he asked, and after he ordered and received the vinyl single, he changed his mind about trading and chose to ignore my messages via e-mail and the BZ forum private message system.

i was offered this single weeks ago and refused to purchase it because i was counting this guy would keep his word, which unfortunately did not happen.

Is this the same guy as on these forums? Always seemed like a nice guy to me. :/

Is this strictly a bad trade? After all, you don't appear to have actually sent him the DVDs, so, strictly speaking, he hasn't ripped you off. I always thought the Hall of Shame was for people who took other people's stuff and then never sent anything in return.

Hmm... don`t know what to say about this. Rand always seemed like a cool
and nice guy to me. It certainly sucks if you expect a thing so you turn down
a offer and then it won`t happen but without knowing the details of your
communication I also feel this somehow does not really count as a trade
gone bad, rather like a misconception within the communication and not
much lost except you now have doubles of some DVD`s you might trade off
to someone else and - what probably hurts you more - the gone-by chance
of getting this amobia disc.

yes, it's the same guy as on these forums.... he was nice until he suddendly changed his mind and stopped replying to my messages, so now i am stuck with these discs and refused offers by other people.

i believe the decent thing would have been to at least send a message saying ''i changed my mind for this and that reason'', instead of ignoring the several e-mails and private messages i sent him.

i thought this Hall Of Shame was for people who do not have a ''good trading behaviour'' or something to that effect.

but if members consider ok for someone to set up a trade and then change his mind before the other person actually sends anything, then i am entitled to do the same.

someone else here asked to trade and i agreed, but after waiting for weeks for him, i found out the DVDs he was going to send are available for download, so i guess it ok to cancel this trade, after all:

besides, at least i am having the decency of explaining my reasons to this member via private message, which is a much better ''trading behaviour'' than the path ''letmerollit'' chose to follow.

by the way, i waited for weeks for any reply from him before making this thread, and since he posts messages almost daily on this forum, he cannot say ''i do not check BZ often''.

I can understand your disappointment - I don`t think what letmerollit did
is a "major offence" but it still is not very nice. I still think there must`ve
been some communication gremlin thingy because to me he really always
seemed to be a great guy! But it is to him to explain/defend himself here
not me. Just giving you my subjective feeling here.

What are the DVDs? Someone might at least take these off your hands for a trade...

5th Beatle,

I know of a dealer who probably still has some of these in stock. I believe they run around $7 U.S. If I'm not mistaken you're not in the U.S. but we can certainly see if the dealer will sell & ship to someone out of the country. PM me if you're interested and we'll see what we can do.

It won't help you out on the extra DVDs you've made but it just might get you the Amoeba vinyl.
